This little painting was done on the side of the road on a trail that led to one of the small lakes at Goldhead Branch.  I had hiked out to the lake and was captivated by this scene on the way back to the car and resolved to do a small painting of it the next day.  This is the result.  I loved the purple shadows on the white sandy path and the riot of color the flowers make.
