During one of my painting sessions out at Lake Woodruff Wildlife Preserve in Deland, FL this adorable young family of Sandhill Cranes walked right in front of my easel.  I couldn't resist a chance to snap a photo.  It is early spring and the Sandhill babies were right at that awkward fuzzy stage and both parents were guarding them pridefully.  During a raining session here in Florida I was forced into my studio where I couldn't resist painting them in their environment.  The Sandhills are on the endangered species list and are beginning to make a comeback here in Florida.  They frequent golf courses and open land.    It is wonderful to see them again and hear their cries as they fly by.
