"Morning - Lake Ola"

I created this painting along the banks of Lake Ola near Mount Dora , FL.  There is a neighborhood park there with a boat launch onto the lake.  I wanted to capture the morning light on the palms that are overhanging the water in this lovely lakeside scene.  Pickeral weed lines the shoreline and there are gentle ripples disturbing the perfect reflections in the water.  I loved the dark mystery in the shadows created by the trees.  The distant shore is still holding on to it's morning mist and the clouds are rising in the distance. Soon there will be afternoon thunderstorms, but for now they are making lovely reflections in the water.
