This is one of my favorite creeks at Sapelo. If you look closely, you can see the Lighthouse in the distance, which is where the creek got it's name. It is low tide in the creek. While I was painting this I witnessed the most remarkable thing! A dolphin had come up the creek and was herding fish against the mud flats, almost jumping clean out of the water to eat it. Most of the activity took place on the dark mud flat in the lower right of the picture frame. I confess I took some time out from painting just to sit, eat my lunch and watch!
