This painting was created "en plein air" at  Orlando Wetlands Park near Ft. Christmas, FL.   I fell in love with all the colors I saw out there in the changing greenery.  This is the dry season in the winter and areas that would be wetter are now dry .  The green grasses are starting to sprout and the cabbage palms are moving into the previously wet areas.  In the distance you can see the browned tops of palms that have been flooded out, and the distant blue greens of the trees.   The clouds are building toward afternoon and a possible shower.  To the artist's eye it is a riot of color and life out there in the wilderness.
