"Afternoon - Pellicer Creek" by Brenda Hofreiter

This painting was created at Pellicer Creek. It is located on the border of St. Johns County and Flagler County near Marineland, FL. This view of the creek is looking south towards Palm Coast. That little bit of light you see in the distance is their water tower. It is afternoon and the light is raking down from the upper right illuminating the marsh. Some of the palms along the leading edge of the marsh have succumed to high tide flooding. The afternoon rain clouds are building and I am hurring to complete the painting and get home before the thunderstorms begin. The crabs were playing in the flats now that the tide is receeding. I met some wonderful fishermen while I was sitting on the dock painting. I always meet the nicest folks while I am out painting! Next time, I'm going to bring my kayak so I can explore more of this wonderful creek!
