This little painting is of a no-longer-in-use watertower at Goldhead State Park. I kept seeing it though the trees on my drive to my cabin. One afternoon, I hiked out to see it and was impressed by the late evening light shinning on it and I just had to set up and paint it. Like most of the buildings at the park, it was created by the CCC during the depression and was used during the construction of the park. It is getting old now and has lots of character. I miss seeing these old watertowers. Maybe they will come back into vogue someday.
